Emergency Contraception Within 72 Hours of Unprotected Sex
Emerres is a generic emergency contraceptive containing levonorgestrel 1.5mg, designed to prevent pregnancy when taken within 72 hours (3 days) of unprotected sex or contraceptive failure. It works by stopping or delaying ovulation.
Emerres is available without a prescription following a short online consultation and is most effective when taken as soon as possible after sex.
How Emerres Works
Emerres contains levonorgestrel, a synthetic hormone that works by delaying ovulation, preventing the release of an egg. If ovulation does not occur, fertilisation and pregnancy cannot happen.
It is not an abortion pill and will not affect an existing pregnancy.
How to Take
Take one tablet (1.5mg) as soon as possible after unprotected sex
Must be taken within 72 hours to be effective
If vomiting occurs within 3 hours, a replacement dose is required
You can resume your regular contraception immediately after use
Suitable for use more than once per cycle if needed, but not recommended as a regular method
Who Can Use Emerres
Emerres is suitable for most women over the age of 16 who need emergency contraception.
Do not take Emerres if you:
Are already pregnant
Have severe liver problems
